A mile-long lake near
Chilanko Forks in
Cariboo Chilcotin Coast with kokanee and rainbow trout. Several resorts surround the lake. Puntzi Lake is also a feeding area for American white pelicans in the spring and sumer, and trumpeter swans from fall to freeze-up.
Puntzi was once the site of a US Air Force base, remnants of which include a radar station built atop Puntzi Mountain in the 1950s and an air strip. Visitors can take the airfield road to the mountain summit for a 360 degree view of the Chilcotin.
