Facing
Strait of Georgia south of
Parksville, this extremely popular park area is famed for its 2000 meter sandy beach. Visitors also enjoy the wooded upland area, self-guiding nature trail and visitor center. Bird watching is good, especially in the early spring when large concentrations of seabirds congregate for the annual herring spawn. The park is crowded during July and August. To avoid inconveniencing campers, a wait list system is in effect. Check at the gatehouse on arrival. Camping space is usually available at nearby
Englishman River Falls Provincial Park or
Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park. To inquire about group camping, call the number below.
