Smelt Bay Provincial Park

On the southern peninsula of Cortes Island, the park is named for the capelin fish that spawn ashore by the tens of thousands. There is a gravel beach backed by mounds which are believed to have been built by natives for their defense. This is just one of hundreds of British Columbia Provincial Parks.
