Stubbs Island Charters became the first killer whale watching company established in British Columbia in 1980. Our 60' vessels are Coast Guard certified and are equipped with an underwater microphone (hydrophone) for you to listen to the whales' vocalizations.

From June to October, we cruise the calm, protected waters of Johnstone Strait on the northeast coast of Vancouver Island. This aera is acknolwedge as the most accessible and predictable location to see orcas (killer whales) in the world. Telegraph Cove is the closest place to this area.

Our 3 to 5 hour cruises depart daily from historic Telegraph Cove. Please call for departure times; there are up to 5 departures daily. Reservations are strongly recommended. Check in time 45 minutes before departure.

The annual festival began in 1976 with a gift of 1,000 cherry trees to the city of Seattle from the Japanese government to celebrate the U.S. Bicentennial.
