This park, nominated as a World Heritage Site lies beneath the confluence of the Alsek and Tatshenshini rivers in the northwest. It borders Alaska and the Yukon Territory, and since 1993 has been permanently protected by the provincial government. The Tatshenshini is a powerful river system, pristine from headwaters to mouth. The area supports tremendous biodiversity, and is a prime habitat for grizzlies, the rare glacier bear, moose, wolves, bald eagles and peregrine falcons. The most popular way to see the area is by kayaking or whitewater rafting. This is just one of hundreds of
British Columbia Provincial Parks.
