Union Bay British Columbia |
Once the shipping port for the Cumberland coal mines, Union Bay's fortunes now lie in oysters (considered especially tasty). At the Union Bay centre, the old jailhouse is now a gift shop, and the post office is housed in a red Victorian mansion. The community is located along Highway 19, just north of Fanny Bay and Buckley Bay.
