North by Northwest

This region boasts more lakes than any other in British Columbia. Char, whitefish and trout are abundant. Some of the best wild steelhead fishing in North America can be found around Burns Lake and Terrace. Fish for giant halibut on a deep-sea charter in Prince Rupert.

Fort St. James National Historic Park, and the original Hudson's Bay Company fur trading fort (restored to the 1890's period) are reminders that the region was once the center of a vast fur trading empire. Or visit the Fort George Park and Museum in Prince George and the restored pioneer village site in Vanderhoof. Bear Glacier (near Stewart), and MT Edziza Provincial Park with its volcanic cones are examples of the unique natural wonders that abound in this region.
