Aarschot is a industrial town of 25,000 on the Demer River, thirty kilometers northeast of
Brussels. Its most prominent landmark is an 85 meter tower attatched to the Collegiate Church of Our Lady. Another tower, the "Orleans", provides a nice vista of the surrounding area.
Gelrode, Langdorp, and Rillaar are boroughs within the municipal district of Aarschot.
