Beauvoorde Castle, located southwest of
Veurne in the village of Wulveringem, dates from the 16th century, when construction was initiated on top of the ruins of an old fortress. It is beautiful inside and out, with extensive art and furniture collections, and a verdant pastoral setting.
A mild, semi-hard cheese created in the 1990s by a local also bears the name Beauvoorde.
