The Castle of Mirwart, along with the 1300 acre estate that it sits on, was bought by the province of
Luxembourg in 1951. Sadly, it was sold to private individuals in 1991 and public access has been largely curtailed since. Most access comes in conjuction with the estates long association with ecological research, in the form of conventions, training courses, and the like.
