The feudal castle of Sombreffe has only a single northern entrance, flanked by two huge round towers. It was originally constructed around the turn of the 13th century, then partially destroyed by fire and rebuilt near the end of the 16th century. Renovations on the main building were completed in the early 19th century. The interior of the compound is dominated by two tall square keeps.
