Castle of Thy-le-Chateau

The castle of Thy-le-Chateau was originally built in the 12th century. It served as the military fortress for numerous noble clans over the next several centuries, many of whom had extensive modifications performed upon the structure. It was abandoned during the French Revolution, and fell into ruin. During the 20th century, a wealthy patron purchased the property and pursued a renovation project that extended over two decades, culminating in the castle as it exists today, with studiously recreated keep and ramparts.
