The commune of Celles, population 5,000, lies immediately to the north of
Tournai. The E429 roadway passes through its southern tip.
Escanaffles, Molenbaix, Popuelles, Pottes, and Velaines are boroughs within the municipal district of Celles. (There are two other Belgian places called Celles: one in Namur province, and one in Faimes, Liege province.)
