Chateau de Petite Somme

Search Septon (Durbuy)

In 1980, the Radhadesh Hare Krishna sect purchased the Chateau de Petite Somme. Approximately 80 people live in the Krishna community there. The community maintains a bakery, a cafeteria, a giftshop, a museum, a rose garden, a restaurant, a library, and a 45 acre wood with a footpath.

The site that the Chateau de Petite Somme currently occupies has hosted castles ever since the 11th century. There are no pieces of the original medieval fortification, for the buildings on the property have been completely demolished and rebuilt twice, most recently in 1877, when the current neo-gothic was constructed.
