Deurle, on the
Leie River, is noted for its museums featuring expressionist painting by famous locals. The Gustave De Smet Museum and the Dhondt-Dhaenens Museum are conveniently located adjacent to one another. The region is also of interest for the gorgeous landscape which inspired these expressionists.
