Halle, population 34,000, is located 10 kilometers southwest of
Brussels. It is home to a famous church and popular destination for pilgrims: the Basilica of Our Lady, built in the fourteenth century. The church contains an important statue, the Black Virgin, and numerous other works of art as well. Other items of interest in Halle are the Town Hall and the Southwest Brabant Museum.
