Houffalize

Houffalize lies along the Eastern Ourthe River, near the border Belgium shares with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Like nearby Bastogne, it was completely wrecked during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944 and has since been rebuilt. It is surrounded by dense forests and open fields, and is extremely popular with mountain bikers. Mabompre, Mont, Nadrin, Tailles, Tavigny, and Wibrin are boroughs within the municipal district of Houffalize.
