Jodoigne is a rural commune in the
Hesbaye farming region, 40 kilometers east of
Brussels, with a population of 11,000.
The commune of Jodoigne has a long list of boroughs, as many small towns and villages were merged into it: Pietrain (Petrem), Zetrud-Lumay (Zittert-Lummen), Opgeldenaken, Jodoigne-Souveraine, Melin (Malen), Jauchelette, Sint-Remigius-Geest (Saint-Remy-Geest), Lathuy, Zittert, Saint-Jean-Geest (Sint-Jans-Geest), Lummen, and Dongelberg.
