The commune of Kinrooi lies in the extreme northeast corner of
Flanders, on the border with the Netherlands. It has a population of 12,000. The
Meuse River flows along Kinrooi's eastern edge.
Kessenich, Molenbeersel, and Ophoven are boroughs within the municipal district of Kinrooi.
