Limbourg, not to be confused with the
Limburg province to the northwest, is a small town set on the
Vesdre River, approximately halfway between the city of
Liege and Aachen, in Germany. It has a population of 6,000.
Because it is set high on a rock outcrop, Limbourg has often been prized as a military objective during wartime, and it has suffered repeated invasions over the centuries.
Bilstain and Goe are boroughs within the municipal district of Limbourg.
