Lummen, a commune with a population of 14,000, is situated immediately northwest of
Hasselt, following either the E313 roadway or the
Albert Canal. The E314 cuts across the E313 near the eastern edge of Lummen.
Linkhout and Meldert are boroughs within the municipal district of Lummen.
