Middelkerke is a seafront commune of 16,000 near the center of the Belgian coastline, just southwest of Oostende.Leffinge, Lombardsijde, Mannekensvere, Schore, Sint-Pieters-Kapelle, Slijpe, Spermalie, Westende, and Wilskerke are boroughs within the municipal district of Middelkerke. (There is another Sint-Pieters-Kapelle in Vlaams-Brabant province.)
