The commune of Profondeville, population 11,000, is directly south of the city of Namur on the Meuse River. The town center of Profondeville is located across from a vista called the Frenes Rocks, from which there is an excellent view of Profondeville and the surrounding Meuse Valley. The town is popular with mountain bikers. Arbre, Bois-de-Villers, Lesve, Lustin, and Riviere are boroughs within the municipal district of Profondeville. (There is another Arbre in Ath, Hainaut province.)
