Val-Dieu Abbey

Search Aubel

The abbey at Val-Dieu was established in the 13th century, vacated during the French Revolution, then reinhabited by Cistercian monks in 1844. Val-Dieu s gothic church was rebuilt in 1934. A secular brewing company has recently been allowed to set up shop on the abbey grounds, and produces beer according to authentic Val-Dieu recipes. A cafe sells the abbey beers as well as wines and cheeses under the Val-Dieu label.
