Vise is a commnue of 4,000, due south of the Dutch city of Maastricht. It was one of the first Belgian municipalities to fall to the Germans in World War I. The Church of St. Hadelin in Vise holds relics transferred in 1338 from the monastery of Celles.

Argenteau, Cheratte, Lanaye, Lieze (Lixhe), Richelle, and Ternaaien are boroughs within the municipal district of Vise.
