The commune of Watermael-Boitsfort, located within the
Brussels administrative district, is divided into three regions: the two self-contained towns of Watermael and Boitsfort, both of which have their own valley, and the rest, covered by the
Soignes Forest. Most of the development is residential rather than commercial, but there are pockets of urbanization. The population is approximately 25,000.
