Anderson Marsh State Historic Park contains 1,065 acres of oak woodland; grass covered hills, and tulle marsh at the southeast end of
Clear Lake. The Pomo tribe, who were among the finest basket makers in North America, used the rich natural resources of the area. Archeologists have found Native American artifacts in the area that date back as much as 10,000 years. Some of the artifacts are on display in the Anderson Ranch House in the park. Popular for bird watching, hiking and picnicking, the park also hosts a blackberry festival every August.
The weather is changeable so wear layered clothing. The park is located between Lower Lake and Clear Lake on Highway 53, north of Calistoga in the wine country.
