Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve features over 1,700 acres of California's official flower, the golden poppy, on display each spring. The reserve also features other wildflowers in bloom. The park has eight miles of trails and a visitor center with natural history displays and watercolor paintings by Jane Pinheiro, who was a leader in the efforts to preserve the reserve. The park is wheelchair accessible.
The weather can be changeable, wear layered clothing. The reserve is located 15 miles west of Highway 14 near the town of
Lancaster. The visitor center is on Lancaster Road (Avenue l.)
