Admiral William Standley State Recreation area is at an elevation of 1,700 feet in the Coastal Range. Located near the headwaters of the south fork of the
Eel River, the park features 45 acres of redwoods and is a popular salmon and steelhead fishing area, as well as a favorite for hiking and picnicking.
The park is 14 miles west of Laytonville on Branscomb Road.
