Bothe-Napa Valley State Park

Search Visit California

Visitors to Bothe-Napa Valley State Park can follow hiking trails along a stream or climb to 1,170' to a vantage point on Coyote Peak. Trails lead to Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park as well as a grove of Redwoods. The park does not have the typical redwood groves as found in coastal areas. These redwoods tend to grow along streams or near springs. Thousands of years ago, it was populated by the Wappo tribe. This area was developed by the Hitchcock family as a large family estate. Later a large part of the estate was purchased to develop a private resort called "Paradise Park".
The park has campsites and a swimming pool. A horseback concession operates during summer and fall.

The park is located 5 miles north of St. Helena and 4 miles south of Calistoga on Highway 29/128.
