The California African American Museum's exhibits are designed to enlighten the public as to the contributions of African-Americans to our society, both from the past and present. The current museum building was opened in 1984, and was designed by two African American architects, Jack Haywood and the late Vincent Proby.
Hours for the museum are Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Admission is free; however some special events do require a fee.
