Founded in 1929, this is a public college that awards undergraduate degrees in marine transportation, business, engineering, and technology. Special learning facilties include a learning resource center and a training ship and navigation steam plant and diesel engine simulators. The 67 acre campus is in a suburban area 30 miles northeast of San Francisco. Including residence halls, there are 26 buildings. There are no fraternities or sororities but there are over 15 clubs and organizations. Campus tours are available by contacting the admissions office.
