Founded in 1929, this is a public college that awards undergraduate degrees in marine transportation, business, engineering, and technology. Special learning facilties include a learning resource center and a training ship and navigation steam plant and diesel engine simulators. The 67 acre campus is in a suburban area 30 miles northeast of
San Francisco. Including residence halls, there are 26 buildings.
There are no fraternities or sororities but there are over 15 clubs and organizations.
