The Charles Krug Winery was the first winery founded in the Napa Valley, in 1861. Tasting hours are Monday through Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The winery is closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Although tours have been offered in the past they have been suspended for a short period while retrofitting is being completed on the historic buildings. Guests are welcome to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in the picnic area; an assortment of culinary delights and wines can be purchased at the Visitor Center.
