The Peter Mondavi family has owned this world famous winery since 1943. The Charles Krug Winery was the first winery founded in the Napa Valley, in 1861. Tasting hours are Monday through Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The winery is closed Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.Although tours have been offered in the past they have been suspended for a short period while retrofitting is being completed on the historic buildings. Guests are welcome to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in the picnic area; an assortment of culinary delights and wines can be purchased at the Visitor Center.
