Corte Madera is located in Marin County north of San Francisco between Sausalito and San Rafael along US Highway 101 near San Pablo Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Incorporated in 1916, the town extends from San Francisco Bay on the east side of Highway 101 to Mt. Tamalpais on the west. Corte Madera occupies an area of four square miles of land.
This small town of about 8,300 residents is located 12 miles north of San Francisco, is generally sunny once the night ocean fogs of the Pacific have burned away. The town of Corte Madera is within hiking, biking and driving distance of some of the most beautiful vistas in the western United States.
