El Segundo

This coastal community is located south of Santa Monica on Highway 1 and west of Greater Los Angeles. El Segundo is part of the Los Angeles-Long Beach, California metro area.

Its name derives from Spanish for "second," because it was the second refinery of Standard Oil.
