Located off Highway 101 in the San Fernando Valley. Encino is located west of Studio City. Encino is part of the Los Angeles-Long Beach, California metro area.
Its name derives from the Spanish for "live oak" and was the filming location for 1946 movie, "It's a Wonderful Life".
