This 654-acre estate was built between 1916 and 1919 for Mr. and Mrs. William B. Bourn II, a wealthy citizens of San Francisco. The estate includes a 43-room mansion and 16 acres of formal gardens, which are notable for the Italian Renaissance tea house and the nearby carriage house, dominated by a bell tower.
Filoli is open Tuesday through Saturday, from February 12 to October 26, 2002, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (last admission is at 2:30 pm); closed on Sunday and Monday.
Admission fees are $10.00 per adult, $5.00 per student (with valid ID) and $1.00 for children ages 7-12. Children under 7 are free. Admission includes self-guided tours, guided tours, and nature hikes.
