This vast park at the east end of the Santa Monica Mountains, just west of the Golden State Freeway Interstate 5, is perhaps the largest urban municipal park in the United States. The park was donated by Griffith J. Griffith, a Welsh miner who earned his fortune in gold.

• Greek Theatre

• Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round
  Located in Park Center between Los Angeles Zoo and the Los Feliz park entrance. The merry-go-round features 68 elaborately detailed and decorated horses. An automated band organ provides accompaniment in the form of marches and waltzes. 213-665-3051
• Pony Rides and Train
  The train makes a 1.5 mile route through the park starting near the Los Feliz entrance. 213-664-3266
