The Hayward Area Society Museum is the site of Hayward's original post office. The museum houses historic tools and utensils, photographs, family albums, early maps, antique toys and memorabilia, and a 1923 fire engine. The exhibits change up to three times a year. Museum also includes a research library and a gift shop. The Hayward Area Historical Society Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The museum is closed Sundays and holidays.
