Henry W. Coe State Park

The 2nd largest California state park

Straddling the rugged ranges south of Mount Hamilton, Henry W. Coe State Park at nearly 81,000 acres is the largest state park in Northern California. High ridges, deep canyons, lakes and forests form a beautiful and incredibly complex topography. After centuries of habitation by coastal Ohlone and Great Valley Yokuts, the land was eventually settled by homesteaders and cattlemen.

From Coe headquarters, site of the only developed facilities in the park, hikers, cyclists, and equestrians can access over 250 miles of trails and dirt roads. Visitors are encouraged to stop in and pick up a map.

The park offers opportunities to camp, fish and backpack. From Highway 101 in Morgan Hill (1/2 hour south of San Jose), take the East Dunne Avenue exit and go east past Anderson Lake to the end of the county road to the park headquarters, about 13 miles.

Location: PO Box 846, East Dunne Avenue, Morgan Hill California 95038 Telephone 408-779-2728 Fax 408-778-5749
