Hollywood Bowl

The world's largest amphitheater

Occupying a natural amphitheater in the foothills off Highlands Avenue, just west of Cahuenga Blvd, the bowl hosts concerts by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and its own Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Its capacity is 18,000. The grounds are open daily. Concerts are presented almost daily from late June to mid-September. Prices vary. For tickets, phone 213-480-3232.

The Edmond Edelman Hollywood Bowl Museum, near the entrance to the grounds, provides a multimedia look at the history of the bowl from its beginnings in 1922. Admission is free. For hours, call 213-850-2058.
