Claremont Graduate University is like no other graduate-level university in the nation. Founded in 1925, the University is an independent institution devoted entirely to graduate study.
The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has classified CGU as a Doctoral Research University-Extensive, the highest rating in its new classification system, reserved for some of the world's finest institutions. On their 19-acre, tree-lined campus in Claremont 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, their seven academic schools and two independent departments award master's and doctoral degrees in 22 disciplines.
CGU is located in Los Angeles County and has a total enrollment of approximately 2000.
