The College of Oceaneering was established in 1967 as a Commercial Diving Center (CDC) at the World Port Los Angeles in Wilmington, California. Now into its fifth decade, the College of Oceaneering, in addition to training commercial divers, offers instruction in the exciting area of Hyperbaric Medical Technology, training technicians in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and Transcutaneous Oxygen Monitoring (TCOM). The College grew from a modest enrollment of six students to the largest school of its type in the United States, graduating over 350 commercial divers per year.
The program leads to the Associate of Science degree in Marine Technology.
