Western University of Health Sciences is a non-profit, independent academic health center, founded as the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific (COMP) in 1977. They have since expanded its mission by offering additional primary care-focused educational programs in the allied health professions, pharmacy, advanced practice nursing and, in 2003, will add a veterinary medicine program.
