The year was 1910. The old Fresno Traction Company had just added two new trolley lines in downtown Fresno. J.C. Forkner was just beginning to plant the first trees in Fig Garden.

1910 was also the year Fresno City College, California's first Community College, was established, ultimately changing educating in California.

FCC offers over 100 major areas of study. Many are designed to transfer to a University. Also offered are certificate and degree programs.

Several "unique" study areas include the Police Academy, the Fire Academy, the Cisco (Computer Networking) Academy and the Library Technology programs.

Fresno City College is located in Fresno County and has a total enrollment of approximately 16000.

The events include a carnival, live music and dancing, classic car show, a pancake breakfast, parade and BBQ. A large fireworks display is also featured on Saturday night.
