L A County Medical Center School of Nurs

The School of Nursing founded in 1895, was called the College Training School. It was a twenty-four month hospital-based program under the direction of the County Hospital and the College of Medicine of the University of Southern California.

The name, the Los Angeles County Medical Center School of Nursing, was retained when the college was granted initial accreditation status by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 1995 and was authorized to grant Associate Degrees. In 1998 the Board of Supervisors approved renaming the institution the Los Angeles County College of Nursing and Allied Health to reflect its expanded educational role.

The School is located in Los Angeles County and total enrollment is approximately 240.
