The names "Loyola" and "Marymount" have long been associated with Catholic higher education in countries around the globe. Saint Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, sanctioned the foundation of his order's first school in 1548. Among the academic venues are the Colleges of Liberal Arts; Communication and Fine Arts; Business Administration and Science and Engineering and the Schools of Education and Film and Television. There is also a Graduate Division and Law School. LMU is located in Los Angeles, (Los Angeles County) CA, and has a total enrollment of about 6600. Student housing is available for 2036. Athletic scholarships are given in basketball, baseball and various sports.
