In 1932, the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary established Marymount Junior College on Sunset Boulevard in Westwood. Marymount was the first Catholic junior college in California and began as a liberal arts college for women.

Their is a nice mix of courses for students including the "Pre-s"--Dentistry, Law, Med, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine.

The Library at Marymount College houses an excellent collection of 30,000 books and 225 current periodical subscriptions.

The College is now located in Rancho Palos Verde, Los Angeles County, CA, and has a total enrollment of about 750.

Athletic scholarships are given in some sports.
