The University of San Francisco was established in 1855 as San Francisco's first institution of higher learning. The University has grown from a one-room school house to become San Francisco's largest independent university. The School of Law, established in 1912, is located on the University's 55-acre hilltop campus overlooking Golden Gate Park, the Pacific Ocean, and downtown San Francisco. Today there are nearly 700 students enrolled in the School of Law and approximately 200 students receive the Juris Doctor degree from USF each year. USF offers full-time and part-time programs leading to the Juris Doctor degree, as well as a full-time concurrent degree program leading to Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degrees. USF also offers a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree program for foreign lawyers who have first degrees in law from a non-American university.
