The West Valley-Mission Community College District is located in
Saratoga,
Santa Clara County, CA, and is comprised of, as the name implies,
Mission College and
West Valley College.
Every semester more than 25,000 people enroll in the West Valley-Mission Community College District's classes. Approximately 20,000 students attend classes in one of the district's two campuses--West Valley College in Saratoga and Mission College in Santa Clara. The college's community education and economic development programs provide corporate training and business services for 5,000 clients annually.
Transferable units completed at either college are acceptable for credit at the University of California, the California State University, and many private universities, including Stanford. The colleges rate very high in transferring students to four year colleges and universities, and studies show that transfer students perform better academically than freshman university students.
